Our Finance Graduate Apprenticeship follows a 5 year programme (in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University) with flexible work based learning to develop academic, practical and professional skills to achieve a Masters in accountancy and Qualified ACCA.

GE Aerospace Caledonian is a purpose-built aircraft engine overhaul facility, adjacent to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. The Caledonian site was officially opened in 1980 and has since grown into a centre of excellence for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) of CF6 & GEnx engine types. After each overhaul, the engines undergo intensive performance testing on site in our bespoke test cell, before returning to our global customer base ready for service.

At our Caledonian site, our Apprentices (Foundation, Modern & Graduate), XLP, OMLP and interns are key members of our team helping achieve the challenges of tomorrow. They continuously develop new skills to keep up with the pace of change in the Aviation Industry and become comfortable working in this ever-challenging environment which thrives on embracing change.

As a Finance Graduate Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of finance and accounting. You will work closely with our finance team, supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to key projects. This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, develop your financial acumen, and gain valuable industry insights.

You will have a keen sense of achievement and take pride in the work you undertake and produce. Be highly self-motivated, be able to work in a small team and independently.

You will:

Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support cross-functional projects.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned by the finance team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

5 B’s at higher for school leavers – including maths or accountancy
OR an A at HNC level in an accountancy/ finance related subject.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
