What you’ll do

During our 2-year programme, you’ll work as part of an awesome team to support the installation of low carbon technology, including air source heat pumps, in customers’ homes. Spend your time interacting with customers to install, service, fault find and repair our amazing tech. You could even find yourself planning, selecting, installing, servicing and maintaining low carbon tech with the supervision and support of experienced team members.

You must have Maths and English GCSE at level 4-9, functional skills Maths and English, or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.

Please note: You must be 16+ to apply for this role, with a full-driving licence and access to a vehicle for the duration of your training

You will also be responsible for:

Carrying out outstanding work with design criteria, manufacturers guidance, regulations and industry recognised standards and procedures in mind at all times
Completing prep work for the installation of low carbon tech
Testing handover procedures for low carbon tech
Removing and disposing of old heating and hot water systems (to make place for our shiny, low carbon ones!)
Completing routine servicing and maintenance within customer homes

What you need:

A Maths and English GCSE at level 4-9, functional skills Maths and English, or equivalent
A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points
Permanent right to work in the UK for the duration of Apprenticeship
Great problem solving skills
Resilience and ability to learn from mistakes
Motivation to learn and develop

Key details:

Apprenticeship: Level 3 Low Carbon Heating Technician
Duration: 24-months (plus 4-month EPA – End Point Assessment)
Location: Oxford, Cambridge, Hull, Sheffield, Doncaster and Worcester
Start Date: 17th March 2025
Requirements: GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 or Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English, or equivalent. Full UK driving licence (with no more than 3 points).
Salary: Starting salary (for age 16-20) £17,652, and (for age 21+) £20,381 with salary progression throughout and a final salary, after 5 years in role, from £40,000.

The next steps

We do things a little differently around here. If successful in your eligibility questions, we’ll invite you to complete our online blended assessment. This is made up of multiple-choice questions and three short video interview questions, but we’ll give you all the instructions you need to complete this. You’ll be scored fairly by a real person and if you stand out to us, we’ll invite you to a virtual assessment centre where you can show us what you’ve got.
