Contract: Fixed Term - Apprenticeship

Salary: £16,439 - £21,868 per annum (Apprentice Grade)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Location: Chadderton Town Hall, Middleton Road, Chadderton, Oldham. OL9 6PP

Role Overview:

To provide clerical assistance to the Registration Service Manager/Superintendent Registrar in the provision of registration services to the public

Key Responsibilities:

Use a range of computer packages e.g. typing letters in word, inputting data onto spreadsheets and registration databases
Account for cash transactions/ daily reconciliation of certificates and sales transactions.
Cover reception as required.
To provide a high standard of customer care and ensure that all information is kept secure and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Register marriages, civil partnerships as per legal requirements by direct personal questioning and accurately recording this in both written and electronic records

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to use IT applications in relation to the requirements of the post including excel, Microsoft word,outlook
Willing to learn new skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively advise and support senior officers, with confidence to challenge where appropriate based on evidence.
Good organisational skills to be able to manage competing demands
