Role and responsibilities:

To assist in providing an effective and efficient service under the direction of the supervisor
The apprentice is required to carry out upgrades and repairs on a range of vehicles and plant for the re-certification process for all plant and machinery to the standard set by the manufacturer and Rail specifications and standards
To ensure an excellent professional quality service to QTS Group, including their health, safety and welfare whilst on site
To undertake any skills, product knowledge or legislative training and development activities as deemed necessary in order to maintain own professional development and enhance competence within the job role, to take advantage of technology advancements, in order to provide improved service delivery
To assist with the completion of necessary recording of work undertaken on vehicles and plant during upgrades or whilst undergoing maintenance and repairs, both manually and electronically as technology advancement permits
Assist in any other aspect of the company where required

Skills required:

Genuine interest in building a career in heavy plant engineering
Willing to commit to a training package of three years
Flexible working approach so that essential works can be carried out within set timescales
Willing to travel to other sites with other plant engineers to carry out works
Outstanding and responsible work ethic and pride in providing excellent service
