An exciting opportunity for a groom on an international event yard for someone already holding a level 2 in equine.
Chance to join professional and successful team in a serious but fun environment. Learn the general day to day smooth running of the busy competition yard with horses ranging from foals to 5*.
General Yard Duties to include but not limited to;
- Mucking out
- Feeding
- Turning out etc
- Maintaining the facilities
- Hacking
- Fittening
- Ground Work
- Helping with some Backing.
- Preparing for & Grooming at National & International Competitions. Sole Charge of Yard at times.

Desired Skills & Qualities
- Must have a Love of Horses, be Willing to Learn and Part of a Team.
- Capable of handling fit competition horses and exuberant youngsters.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain and turn out to highest standards.
- Reliable, honest and hard working with a good sense of humour and desire to learn.
- Driver with own transport preferable.
Desired Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent in Grade c/4 in maths and English desirable but not essential.
- Applicants must already hold a level 2 in horse care
- Applicants must have a driving license due to location
Expected Career Progression
- Employment available for the right candidate is available.
Training
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
