Apprentice Doggy Day Care Assistant Wanted!
Wagtails is a thriving doggy day care set in the beautiful rural village of Rettendon, close to Chelmsford and surrounding areas. Due to our location there are very limited options for buses and no rail options available.
Applicant will need to either have their own means of transport or a reliable lift option available for commuting.
We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic, dog loving apprentice to join our team and gain their Level 2 Animal Care qualification.
Our ethos is to provide a fun, safe, fear free and reward-based environment for all our day care dogs and a kind and happy environment for staff.
During your apprenticeship you will gain extensive knowledge and hands on experience in canine behaviour, body language, health and safety, training and enrichment as well as an opportunity to gain further qualifications.
Daily duties will include caring for the dogs, assisting in daily enrichment activities, providing basic training for the dogs, feeding the dogs lunch, light grooming and assisting with daily cleaning tasks.
The right candidate will need to be passionate about a career with dogs, be comfortable being hands on and interacting with a variety of different dog breeds, hardworking and be able to use initiative. You will be willing to learn, enthusiastic, dedicated and has a genuine love for dogs. You'll need to be able to work well as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.

- 5 x 8-hour shifts. Our opening times are 8am to 6pm so shifts may vary depending on the day.

Please note, the successful candidate will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Animal Care Apprenticeship and throughout this recruitment process the individual's eligibility will be checked by the training provider.
