FM Conway are excited to be recruiting for a Drainage Operative Apprentice to join our Water and Drainage Management division, based at our Hickstead Depot. As our Drainage Operative Apprentice, you will gain practical experience conducting a range of services including cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of drains, whilst obtaining your Level 2 Drainage Network Operative qualification. This is a full-time, permanent position, where you will work in a supported learning environment and attend college on a block release basis, completing an average of six hours of study per week for the duration of the course.
The duties of the Drainage Operative Apprentice will include:
-Pursuing your studies and gain the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours to achieve your Level 2 apprenticeship
-Building professional working relationships and maintain clear, proactive communication with colleagues and customers
-Operating HGV High Pressure Jetting vehicles, inline with all safety regulation
-Operating the GIS unit and complying with company operating procedures
-Maintaining vehicle and equipment in line with established company standards
What skills and experience do you need?
As our Drainage Operative Apprentice, you will have strong team working skills, as well as being self-motivated and able to work under pressure. You will have effective communication skills and the ability to confidently use your own initiative. For this role, you will ideally need a grade 4 and above in Maths and English GCSE.
