Job Summary
J Coates Garage Services Ltd, wish to employ an Apprentice aged 16-21 to be trained in our HGV Repair and HGV Servicing Garage.
The willingness to learn is a must, as is punctuality and a willing attitude. You will be exposed to all aspects of servicing and repairing HGV Vehicles, with supervision..
Company overalls are provided as are all PPE.
Hours of work are 08.00-16.30 Monday to Friday.
We are not on a bus route so either your own transport or a lift would be needed.
We are based at Shawell Depot, Watling St, Lutterworth.
Pay is as per the Apprentice National Minimum Wage.
Responsibilities
- Assist qualified mechanics in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections, after training.
- Learn to use equipment effectively under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop area.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance mechanical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- A keen interest in mechanics and automotive technology.
- Basic understanding of vehicle systems is advantageous and is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- With a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently when required.
