We are looking for a candidate, passionate about starting a career in Greenkeeping and looking to undertake a Greenkeeping Apprenticeship. The position is available at Tydd St Giles Golf and Country Club and Level 2 Greenkeeping course will be provided with the role.
Key Duties will include:
- To maintain the high standards of the golf course and holiday home development expected by our members and visitors
- Maintain the greens, surrounds, fairways, rough, tee’s, bunkers and other areas on the golf course on a regular and rotated basis to high standards
- Ensure all rubble and litter is removed from the golf course, the surrounding areas and the lodge development
- Ensure the grounds around the lodges are maintained in a clean and tidy manner on a regular basis. This may include grass cutting, weeding and strimming
- Ensure that the Greenkeepers compound is regularly cleaned and tidied , all machinery and equipment is regularly cleaned, serviced and locked when not in use
- Note and report any work requiring attention on the golf course or lodge development to the Head Greenkeeper as soon as possible
- Undertake minor repairs and other maintenance activities in line with your skills and professional competence
- Talk to customers in a friendly and helpful manner
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Observational skills and attention to detail, to notice problems with the course
- Teamwork skills - and the ability to spend a lot of time working on your own
- A current full UK driving licence with category C
- The Right to work in the UK
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and improve
