To participate in designing our future projects, we are looking for an MSc Geotechnical Engineering Apprentice to join us. This opportunity offers you the chance to engage deeply in geotechnical engineering as you study for your master's qualification. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of projects and contribute to the development and design of geotechnical solutions.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Contribute to solving technical problems with your team
- Carry out engineering designs and assessments
- Prepare design reports and drawings
- Collaborate with engineers across many disciplines
- Be responsible for delivering your own work to a high standard
- Attend site visits and client meetings as required
- With the support of your line manager, plan and prioritise your workload.

On top of that, you’ll have:
- A bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 (hons) in geoscience, civil engineering or a related science or mathematical discipline where relevant subject areas to engineering geology or geotechnical engineering have been studied
- Exhibit a solid understanding of engineering and mathematical principles
- Be employed in an appropriate role and at an appropriate level, in either a levy-paying or non-levy paying organization based in England
- Achieved GCSE English Language / English Literature and Mathematics at grade 4 or above (or grade C or above if awarded under the previous GCSE grading scheme), or have Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics (or any agreed equivalencies)
- Ordinarily have been a resident in the UK for at least three years before the start of the apprenticeship.
Studying
If accepted, you'll pursue a MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering with the University of Leeds which involves participating in in-person classes on campus (when scheduled), encompassing lectures and seminars on a diverse range of subjects, including geotechnical engineering.
We’ll support you the entire way, pay for your qualification and will introduce you to a mentor to coach and guide you through your development journey.

Working week: this will be a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week and you will be paid for the normal working hours and training that’s part of your apprenticeship.
Expected Duration
36 months (Part Time)
You must be available to commence employment in September 2025 to be considered for this role.
