Salary range Band 1 (tbc). Trafford Council is a Living Wage Employer - this means that we pay all our staff a minimum of the Real Living Wage rate which is currently £12 per hour. For any periods where our lowest hourly rate drops below the Real Living Wage rate applicable at the time, we provide an hourly supplement to increase pay to this level. This applies to staff who are on the lowest pay point of our Band 1 grade.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Inclusive Economy & Communities Team to support the delivery of the Trafford in Work (In Work Progression) programme. This programme aims to support residents who are keen to increase their working income (hours and/or earnings) and to sustain secure and rewarding employment that best fits their skills and experience. The programme will provide mentoring, advice and training to participants, which will need to be coordinated and reported centrally.
The role sits within the Inclusive Economy & Communities Team who work to create a fair economy in Trafford by developing and delivering a range of place-based projects, including business support and growth, investment, employment and skills and community development and regeneration. As part of this team, you will support the effective delivery of the In Work Progression Programme. You will do this by providing administrative support, responding to customer queries, managing diaries, maintaining accurate records and providing information to create reports.
Alongside this work, you will also be given time and support to undertake a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship. This will allow you to develop your skills and experience whilst learning on the job.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and committed person with experience of using MS Office applications who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will need to have good attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with both colleagues and members of the public. You will need to able to work independently, manage your work tasks and work flexibly to meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a team (in either a paid or non-paid role) and will have knowledge of administrative procedures. Experience of working in a team environment and dealing with customers or members of the public would also be beneficial within this role.
Some evening or weekend work may be required to fit the schedules of participants.

Alongside set office days, hybrid/flexible working is available within this role.
You will be willing and able to travel to sites across Trafford as some work will take place at locations outside of the office.
