We’re now looking for a motivated and ambitious Accounts Apprentice to join our finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone ready to work hard, learn fast, and take increasing ownership over the management accounts process. You’ll start with full AAT study support, with a clear pathway to progress onto CIMA or ACA.
Key Responsibilities
As an Accounts Apprentice, you’ll be supported to build a solid foundation in core accounting principles and quickly progress into more hands-on and responsible tasks, with a particular focus on supporting the production of accurate and timely management accounts. Duties will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis
- Supporting the month-end close process and contributing to key schedules and reconciliations
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Processing supplier invoices and employee expenses
- Helping to maintain the integrity of financial data through accurate bookkeeping and ledger management
- Reconciling bank and credit card transactions
- Supporting the finance team in identifying improvements in reporting and financial processes
- Taking on increasing responsibility over time, with the aim of independently managing key aspects of the management accounts process
What We’re Looking For
- A strong interest in accounting and financial reporting
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English, grade 4/C or above)
- A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications preferred
- Ambition to complete AAT and progress to CIMA or ACA
- Solid Excel and IT skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a desire to take ownership and solve problems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Previous experience with Xero would be advantageous.
