Overview:
We are looking for an eager candidate to join us as a Apprentice.
You will support the Head of IT & Data, and the Data Manager in helping Speech and Language UK become more data-centered through the management, engineering and reporting of data for relevant teams, SMT and Speech and Language UK customers.
Duties:
- Assist the data manager and external IT/data partners by inputting to the development of new data services, features, functionality or reports.
- Key support in helping us put in place increasingly powerful, self-service reporting that will support our teams make evidence-driven decisions in support of our organisation’s 5-year strategy.
- Build your knowledge and experience using low-code tools and query languages such as SQL.
- Help develop the corporate data model in Dynamics 365, Azure and other core systems.
- As part of the IT and Data Team, you will be expected to play your part to help protect and manage our data, ensuring good governance is applied to keep our data secure and our practices compliant with all relevant data protection legislation.
- Build your general IT Operational skills and support the general running and administration of the work of the IT and Data Team.
Desirable skills:
- Experience with Cloud-based data services
- Basic knowledge and experience with Excel
- Awareness of DAMA or any data management framework
- Data Analysis experience
- Low code development/automation experience
- Experience of working remotely with colleagues, using collaborative office tools like Office 365 or Google Suite
- Strong sommunication skills

Entry requirements:
A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade.
Acceptable qualifications include, any of:
- Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
- Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
- International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
- BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
- Experience with programming languages (such as Python)
OR equivalent work experience:
- 2-3 years in a similar subject-related role.
- 'Similar subject' relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with 'Digital and Technology Solutions'. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.
Please note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
Essential qualifications:
GCSE (or equivalent) in: English (Grade C/4) and Maths (Grade C/4)
Salary:
£25,849 per annum. [will be discussed upon interview]
