Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you’ll gain invaluable practical experience and access to state-of-the-art training facilities in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We have a unique opportunity for an Apprentice Mechanical Fire Pump Engineer where you'll earn while you learn! We will teach you how to install, service, test, and repair fire suppression Pump systems and equipment in accordance with relevant service standards and specifications.

As an apprentice, you’ll engage in a hands-on learning experience, developing new skills while building connections with our knowledgeable staff.

What You’ll Do at Work

Service, test, and install the appropriate Fire Suppression systems and pumps; disassemble and reconstruct equipment.
Perform installation/servicing/testing and repairs on systems and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
Install systems and equipment based on relevant fabrication drawings and specifications.
Accurately complete engineering work reports, handover certificates, and pressure test certificates or checklists as required.
Undertake other duties as assigned by your line manager.

Where You’ll Work

You will be expected to cover the Midlands and the North of England. Further UK travel may be required so working away and occasionally staying over in hotels may be required.

Requirements / Essential Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5) essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5) essential
Other Driving Licence (Grade Full) essential

This thrilling opportunity is field-based, meaning that you will work alongside our highly skilled engineers, traveling between our clients’ sites each day. Our work may also require heavy lifting and working from heights.

Upon completion of this apprenticeship there are many internal opportunities within the company

What’s Next?

Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview.

Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
