Apprentice - Electrician – Torness Power Station
We have a vacancy for enthusiastic, hardworking apprentice electrician for our Torness Power Station contract. You will be training to become a SJIB Gold Card Installation Electrician. Tasks include installing containment, wiring and electrical health and safety.
Annual wage:
- £15,912 a year
- Overtime and Travel allowance payable
Training course:
- Installation and maintenance electrician
Hours:
- Monday - Friday, between 7.30am - 4.00pm plus overtime when applicable.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Full installation on a large nuclear project
- Installing electrical systems
- Testing electrical systems
- Fault-finding

Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan:
- The apprenticeship training will be provided by Edinburgh College along with full onsite support, mentoring from our central learning and development team and past apprentices
- Following the completion of the Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive a installation electrician and maintenance electrician level 3 qualification
- MUST HAVE GRADE C/4 OR ABOVE IN MATHS ENGLISH AND SCIENCE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE
- You will become a Gold Card SJIB Electrician
Requirements:
Essential qualifications
- Must be aged 18+
- GCSE or equivalent Science (Grade C or 4 and above) essential
- GCSE English (Grade C or Grade 4) essential
- GCSE Maths (Grade 4) essential
