How do bookkeeping apprenticeships work?
An apprenticeship in bookkeeping is split between employment with the firm and external studies. One day a week might be spent working towards your formal qualification; the rest is spent working developing practical and relevant skills.
Responsibilities:
As a Bookkeeping Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced team to support day-to-day accounting operations. You will learn to:
· Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software
· Process invoices, receipts, and payments
· Reconcile bank statements
· Assist with VAT returns and management accounts
· Communicate with clients to gather and clarify information
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
· Eager to learn and build a career in finance
· Detail-oriented and organised
· Comfortable working with numbers and basic IT systems
· A good communicator with a professional manner
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Qualifications Required:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
Desirable:
· Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
· Previous part-time work or volunteering experience (any sector)
