innovation. Komatsu UK Ltd is based in Birtley, close to
Gateshead, and employs over 400 people engaged in the design and
manufacture of medium-sized hydraulic excavators.
We are looking for a permanent Engineering
Degree Apprentice to join our Field Support Department. The
Field Support Department provides technical support to Komatsu
customers across the European market. The successful candidate
at the end of their Apprenticeship will:
- liaise with Service and Distributors;
- manage Technical Service Information (TSI) requests;
- issue Parts and Service News and Field Campaigns;
- provide technical support for field machines;
- analyse warranty data;
- conduct vendor recovery;
- co-ordinate early life surveys;
- support continuous improvement activities;
- travel nationally and internationally to provide technical support.
Full on-the-job training will be
provided.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 128 UCAS
points from either:
- Three A Levels at Grade ABB, these must include Maths, and one of the following subjects: -
- Biology, Chemistry, Computing/Computer Science, Design and Technology, Electronics, Engineering, ICT, Further Maths, Music Technology, Physics, Statistics. Plus one other subject, excluding General Studies.
Training
The successful candidate will study for a
BEng (Hons) in Engineering Practice through a Degree
Apprenticeship at the University of Sunderland via day release.
For the remainder of the week, they will be based at Komatsu UK,
developing their skills towards becoming a Field Support Engineer
upon completion of the programme.
