About the role
Onward Repairs are now looking to add to their in-house maintenance trades team will an Apprentice Electrician. In this role you will assist with Electrical repairs and tests in line with all group standards and key performance targets. Ensuring high standards are consistently met together with observing all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements while undertaking repair activities within customer’s homes, voids and for other clients as required.
Key responsibilities
To assist in undertaking Electrical repairs and servicing, ensuring a cost effective repair solution where value for money is delivered. Helping to organise materials communicating with customers other stakeholders and colleagues to deliver a high quality service.
Provide excellent personal customer service whilst ensuring prompt work of the required standard within the set performance targets.
- Liaison and technical advice
To assist clients, customers and colleagues with applicable information in relation to the service/ assessment of repairs requirements, progress of repairs.
Ensure all work is delivered to a high standard.
To assist in completing jobs on PDA’s and maintain other records as required including access details, materials used, job progression and completion information.
Undertake work activities in line with all health and safety requirements demonstrating a sound working knowledge of key legislative health and safety information, safe working practices ensuring risks are effectively mitigated and all instructions followed providing a safe working environment at all times.
To assist in the operation of light machinery, plant and powered hand tools in accordance with recognised safety procedures. To be responsible for the safe use and daily maintenance of allocated Company vehicles.
What we required
- Have a strong interest in electrical servicing and repairs.
Desirable
- Experience of working in an customer focused position
- Experience of working in a target driven environment
- A driving licence is not needed to take up the apprenticeship but candidates will need to have obtained a driving licence by the end of the apprenticeship in order to take on a permanent position if available at the time.
You will be enrolled on a 48-month Level 3 Installation & Maintenance apprenticeship course with Burnley College.
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Requirements: A minimum of Grade 4 or above in GCSE English, Mathematics, and Science.
- Prior Qualifications: You must not already hold a trade qualification in Electrical or a similar electrical discipline.
- Residency: You must be a UK citizen or have the right to work in the UK, and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past three years.
- Right to Work: You must be able to demonstrate your legal right to work in the UK through citizenship or valid immigration documentation.
