Full Description:
PDSVISION UK is part of a worldwide group that provides a diverse range of engineering solutions, consultancy and training. Working with the IT Manager in this hands-on role you will help support the UK region which comprises of 2 sites in Cheadle and Cambridge with approx. 100 users. In addition, you will be a part of the Global IT Support helpdesk providing 1st Line Support.
This would be a big step up for the right person looking to develop a career in IT as we have a relatively complex IT infrastructure for a business of our size.
We can offer you on the job training, exposure to lots of different technologies, excellent prospects and the chance to have a real positive impact within the organisation but you’d need to be a fast learner, methodical and be able to follow written procedures carefully.
To give you an idea of what you would be working with, some of the technologies we use include; 365 including Teams Voice, a cloud based Zero Trust network, Dell hardware, WatchGuard Firebox Security Appliances, UniFi network switching and WiFi, Hyper-V VMs, Veeam Backup and Replication, MS SQL Server, Bitdefender, 1 Gbps Leased Line, the latest versions of MS Software and a whole lot more.
The core role as an Apprentice IT Support Technician will be to:
· Provide 1st Line / Desktop support to the user base operating on a Windows network
· Create new user accounts
· User administration
· Troubleshoot issues relating to PCs, laptops, servers, printers, software, networks, phones, etc.
· Set-up new PCs, laptops, printers, software, phones, etc.
· Source and order new hardware
· Assist in IT related projects
Future Prospects:
This role is a great entry point into the tech world. With experience and further training, you can progress to positions like IT Technician, or Cybersecurity Analyst. It’s a solid foundation for a long-term career in IT, with endless opportunities to specialise and grow.

BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.
Duration: 18 Months

· Eager to learn in a fast-paced friendly environment

Qualifications Required:
· You’ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade B or above including Maths, English and IT / Computer Science.
