The Opportunity
We are looking for an Apprentice Thermal Insulation Engineer to join our Insulation Team at our Barrow site. As an apprentice with KAEFER UK & Ireland you will work closely with experienced members of our existing team to support you through your apprenticeship as well as offsite training at TICA, Darlington where you can expect to be trained to industry standard.
How you will make an impact
· As a Kaefer apprentice you will be required to attend college in 2-week block intervals whilst gaining the L3 Apprentice standard for Commercial Thermal Insulation Technician, which includes Functional Skills L2 In Maths and English if L4 GCSE’s not gained, Employer Rights and Responsibilities, PASMA and Asbestos Awareness
· When qualified, as a Thermal Insulation Engineers part of your role will be to apply multi-layer applications of specialist insulation systems, comprising of layers of high-performance insulation, vapour barriers and weatherproof cladding.
· Thermal Insulation Engineers also create bespoke patterns using technical drawing equipment to fabricate specialist cladding materials, which are applied on top of specialist insulation systems to complex pipework, ductwork and vessels.
What you will bring
· Basic understanding of construction and engineering principles
· Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
· Strong attention to details and safety awareness
· Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces
· Good communication skills and willingness to learn
· Some prior experience of practical or hands on roles is beneficial but not required
