The Project Management Apprenticeship is a Level 6 programme that spans 48 months, providing comprehensive training and development for aspiring project managers.
This is a four-year degree apprenticeship designed to give you real experience in managing projects that make a difference. You’ll learn on the job while working towards a recognised Project Management qualification and a degree, following the Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship standard.
Throughout the scheme, you’ll complete six 6-month placements and a final 12-month placement, giving you exposure to key areas such as Project Management, Project Controls, Risk Management, and Construction/Commissioning/Pre-Operations. This means you’ll see how projects are planned, monitored, and delivered from start to finish, and understand the different roles involved in making them successful.
If you enjoy taking responsibility, seeing tasks through to completion, and working with others to achieve results, this could be a great fit. You’ll work alongside industry experts, lead parts of projects, and learn how to deliver safely, on time, and within budget. Strong communication skills are essential because you’ll need to influence and motivate teams while meeting cost, time, quality, and safety standards.
Your progress will be assessed against government standards, and you’ll build an evidence portfolio of your learning and achievements. In the final six months, you’ll complete an independent assessment to show you have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of a projects professional.
As a degree apprentice, you’ll be learning on the job while also studying towards your qualification. This means managing your time effectively is really important. You’ll need to stay organised, keep on top of your college work, and meet deadlines while gaining hands-on experience in the workplace.
