Ready to start building the future of travel? Join our two-year Civil Engineering Technician apprenticeship at National Highways and be part of the team that keeps one of the most advanced road networks in the world moving.
From day one, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and construction professionals, learning how we manage and maintain thousands of miles of highways and structures. You’ll get involved in real projects – inspecting assets, analysing data, and helping design solutions that meet safety and sustainability standards.
This is hands-on learning with impact. You’ll gain experience both on site and in the office, whilst completing a Level 3 apprenticeship – the first step towards professional recognition as an Engineering Technician (BTech) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Assessment Centres will run in May - June 2026, and you’ll hear back soon after about whether you’ve secured a place.
All offers to the programme are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, reference, and DBS criminal record checks.
