The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in a highly skilled and respected trade. As an Electrical Installation Apprentice, you will join a growing and well-established team where you’ll gain real experience working on a wide range of electrical systems, equipment and installations across different environments.
You will combine workplace learning with structured academic study, giving you the technical knowledge, practical ability and recognised qualifications required to progress into a qualified Electrician role. Supported by experienced colleagues, a dedicated Mentor and clear development pathways, this apprenticeship provides the perfect platform to build your confidence, competence and long-term career within the electrical contracting industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, responsibilities include:
- Understanding and applying principles, practices and legislation for the termination and connection of conductors, cables and cords.
- Preparing and installing wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in buildings, structures and external environments.
- Applying electrical principles relevant to the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Organising and overseeing the work environment.
- Travelling to/from various sites and occasionally working away depending on project requirements.
Your skills and experiences:
Applicants must have achieved National 5 (or equivalent) qualifications including Mathematics, English and a Science subject.
Training will include day release study at the local college.
Qualifications achieved through the apprenticeship include:
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
- BS 7671 Electrical Installations
Typical Duration: Approx. 48 months
Due to the location of study and site work, it is preferred that candidates hold a full driving licence, are working towards one, and have passed the SECCTT test.
