About the Role
We are seeking to appoint to the role of Software Tester Apprentice (Level 4).
As a member of the IT Team, this role is integral to YPO’s IT Support function, providing system testing and UAT support of new IT systems and applications.
The role will help ensure that sufficient auditable system testing is completed successfully before applications or developments are transitioned into the “Live environment” and assist where required with the whole Service Transition process.
Overview
The Software Tester Level 4 apprenticeship provides a practical introduction to ensuring software quality and reliability. Apprentices will develop core testing knowledge while gaining hands‑on experience within a real software development environment.
The programme covers areas such as test design and execution, identifying defects, working with development teams, and using industry‑standard testing tools and techniques. Learning takes place alongside the role and leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
About You
As YPO continues to expand, we are looking for a positive-minded individual to join our team. Drawing from the skills and experience section of the Job Description, we seek someone who has:

GCSE or equivalent Grades A*-C (Grade 5 and above) in Mathematics, English Language, IT and 2 other subjects. A Levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications in IT, Computing, Maths or a related subject

A level 3 qualification, such as A levels or an equivalent BTEC.

Basic understanding of how software or IT systems are used in a business context

A strong interest in IT, software development or software testing
-
Good attention to detail and an analytical approach to identifying problems.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to study at academic Level 4, equivalent to the first year of a university degree.
