About the Role
Reporting to the Estate Manager, the role of Apprentice Gardener is to ensure that the grounds are maintained to the highest standards.
To support your learning, you will follow the apprenticeship training for either Horticulture or Landscape Operative (Level 2) provided by Lackham College which is one day per week.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, including one day per week at Lackham College, but we are able to consider 30 hours per week if preferred.
Key Duties
- Weeding & pruning
- Mowing grass
- Hedge trimming
- Use of machinery
- Planting, digging and watering
- Some estate maintenance duties such as emptying gutters, sweeping, tidying, painting and other seasonal work.
About You
You will be interested in horticulture or estate maintenance, eager to learn and acquire skills and knowledge. You need to be able to work outside in all weathers in a physically demanding role including manual handling. Some previous experience or training will be an advantage.
