Shape the future of digital media: become a Product Apprentice at The Telegraph!
The Telegraph is recruiting apprentices who want to be part of our brilliant and innovative team, starting in September 2025.
Role purpose and overview
The Product team aims to provide world-class platforms for discovering and experiencing our journalism, and support the subscriber strategy by devising and developing smart products that attract and delight users. The team is made up of Product Managers, New Product Development, Product Design, Performance Operations, and Visual Storytelling. The team works on a range of strategic priorities in order to improve the quality of our products and, in turn, increase and engage our subscriber base.
You’ll rotate through areas of the Product team including Proposition Development, where you’ll assist in the development of innovative solutions and Performance & insights, where you’ll analyse how the products are performing and identify any improvement opportunities.
What to expect from the programme:
- You’ll support the development and implementation of innovative new products
- Work on research into, and analysis of, current product challenges and improvement opportunities
- Work with dashboards and other analytics sources to dig into our data to discover insights to provide to different areas of the Product department
- Help to identify and benchmark key metrics prior to new product releases, and monitor post-launch to provide feedback on performance and impact
- Update our regular reports, flagging any anomalies and carrying out research to discover the source of significant changes
- Proactively work on projects that may not be tied to an upcoming product release but which can help influence future roadmaps. For example, looking at how users navigate within an editorial channel, and how that differs/compares to other channels.
- Help workshop next steps following the provision of an insights piece, following a project through from initial discovery to implementation and impact
- Help to communicate learnings and next steps to key stakeholders, across Product, Insight & Analytics, and Editorial desks, building relationships with key stakeholders along the way.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships and work confidently with internal and external teams.
- Creative and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to analyse and make recommendations based on data and insight.
- Excellent attention to detail, planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to competing tight deadlines under pressure, with a positive attitude
- A passion and commitment for working in a fast-paced news organisation
