Tasks & Training Details
In this wide ranging apprenticeship, you will learn to:
- Test, diagnose and repair faults on electronic products to component level.
- Read circuit diagrams and assembly drawings.
- Learn hand soldering techniques and use of a rework station.
- Use electronic test equipment.
- Understand components, resistor colour codes and component polarities.
- Understand relevant procedures, standards, engineering and technical documentation.
Day release training will be delivered by SIGTA at their centres in Portslade or Eastbourne – whichever is nearest to your home address.

Training to be provided:
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualifications;
- ST1395 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Technical Support Technician (Development Competence).
The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.
Apprenticeship duration 42 months plus end point assessment
Weekly working hours - Mon-Fri starting between 07:00 – 07:30 and finishing between 15:30 – 16:00 (½ hour unpaid lunch)
Total working hours -40
Pay rate – Year 1 £18,000, Year 2 £20,000, year 3 £23,000

Good eyesight and dexterity (hand skills) as you will be working on complex electronics. Self-motivated & inquisitive. Able for follow detailed instructions & work accurately. Conscientious & diligent. Effective team member & able to work on own initiative.
Qualifications
5 x GCSE at Grade 4/5 (C) and above including English and maths. Science and ICT an advantage.
Other things to consider
As with all apprenticeships, this requires a long term commitment – there will be assignments and log book entries to complete. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a top company, whilst you work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
We are advertising for 1 apprentice but if we can present 2 good candidates, Hanover will employ both.

To become a fully trained and qualified Electronics Repair Technician with Hanover Displays.
