Premier Education, a leading provider of educational and sports programs, is seeking an Apprentice Sports Coach to join our dynamic team. This apprenticeship opportunity is designed for individuals passionate about sports coaching and eager to develop practical skills under the guidance of experienced coaches. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our commitment to providing high-quality sports education to students.
We’re proud to work alongside Exeter College and Bridgwater College to run our L2,3,4 Sports Coach apprenticeships. The successful applicant’s previous experience and qualifications will be considered by the colleges which will then help determine which level of course is appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Training and Development:
- Engage in comprehensive on-the-job training to acquire foundational coaching skills and techniques.
- Work closely with experienced coaches to learn effective coaching strategies for various sports.
- Assist in Planning and Delivery:
- Support in the planning and execution of coaching sessions for different age groups and skill levels.
- Contribute to the development of engaging and age-appropriate training programs.
- Student Interaction:
- Foster positive relationships with students, providing encouragement and support during training sessions.
- Assist in assessing individual student needs and adjusting coaching methods accordingly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure and positive learning environment.
- Gain an understanding of safety regulations and procedures relevant to sports coaching.
- Program Support:
- Assist in the coordination and execution of sports programs, including events, competitions, and showcases.
- Collaborate with other team members to contribute ideas and suggestions for program improvement.
- Skill Enhancement:
- Actively participate in skill development activities to enhance coaching proficiency.
- Receive constructive feedback from senior coaches and apply it to improve coaching techniques.
Qualifications:
- Genuine passion for sports coaching and education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and a positive attitude toward feedback.
- Basic knowledge of sports principles and techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Training and Development:
The apprentice will receive ongoing training, mentorship, and may have the opportunity to pursue relevant coaching certifications during the apprenticeship period. Their week will consist of 30 working hours varying from shadowing, training, seminars, teaching assistant work and eventually progress to running extra curricular clubs and teaching curricular PE sessions.
