We are currently seeking one Mechanical Engineering Apprentice
Working week:
Monday to Thursday: 07.30 - 16.30
Friday: 07.30 – 13.30
Expected apprenticeship duration:
15 Months

What does the job role involve?
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills and gain invaluable experience in mechanical engineering. As an apprentice, you will be trained to set up and operate a variety of machinery and learn about different materials such as rubber, foam, and steel.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain a Level 2 vocational qualification, the Level 2 diploma in engineering operations and a Level 2 certificate in engineering operations.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
You could continue to develop your career by choosing to obtain further qualifications, develop and improve your management and leadership skills or even move across the different areas of the business to pursue a career in your chosen field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn to set up and operate machinery including slitters, hand presses, swing beams, preparation tables, guillotines, and kiss cut machines.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Understand and apply safety protocols and procedures in all operations.
- Gain knowledge of various materials, including rubber, foam, and steel, and how they are processed.
- Work closely with experienced engineers and technicians to support production and engineering projects.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and contribute to process optimization.
Desired skills:
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of machinery and engineering principles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have 4 x GCSE (at A-C) or equivalent, including Maths, English and preferably a Science subject. Applications without the necessary qualifications will not be progressed any further.
