About the Role
This apprenticeship is your opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact. As a Recruitment Consultant Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in sourcing candidates, supporting clients, and ensuring seamless recruitment processes.
You will learn how to:
- Assist with drafting and posting job advertisements, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, community events, and referrals.
- Engage with candidates to understand their skills, experience, and aspirations.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate information and client requirements using recruitment software.
- Collaborate with management to gather job specifications and provide regular progress updates.
- Support team meetings and produce professional documents.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Recruitment Process
Assist with job advertisements, CV screening, and interview scheduling.
Search for candidates via job boards, social media, and referrals, engaging them to assess suitability.
Communicate professionally via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
Maintain accurate candidate and client records using recruitment software.
- Build Client Relationships
Understand recruitment needs and provide updates on candidate searches.
Manage documents, emails, telephone calls, and meeting contributions effectively.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Qualifications Required:
- GCSEs (or equivalent): English and Mathematics at grades A*-C (or 9-4) preferred; grades A*-D (or 9-3) considered for exceptional candidates.
- Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
- Key Skills:
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Organisation and time management skills.
- Interest in recruitment and people management.
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Certifications in business administration or customer service.
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
- Familiarity with social media for professional purposes.

What Your Typical Day Will Look Like as a Recruitment Consultant Apprentice
8:30 am: Log into our recruitment software to check for new job applications, follow-up tasks, and updates from the previous day. Organise your priorities to ensure a productive day ahead.
9:00 am: Begin sourcing candidates for active roles by searching job boards, social media platforms, and internal databases. Review CVs and shortlist suitable candidates for initial engagement.
9:30 am: Make outbound calls to engage with shortlisted candidates. Discuss their experience, career aspirations, and assess their suitability for available roles. Accurately log interactions in the system.
11:00 am: Join a team meeting to review ongoing recruitment campaigns, share candidate insights, and collaborate on strategies to overcome challenges in sourcing.
12:00 pm: Take a well-earned lunch break to recharge. Enjoy a meal, take a walk, or connect with colleagues before starting the afternoon tasks.
1:00 pm: Focus on updating and maintaining candidate records. Ensure job descriptions are accurate and that all communication is logged in compliance with data protection regulations.
2:00 pm: Conduct candidate follow-ups. Check availability for interviews, confirm schedules, and provide additional information about the roles they’ve applied for. Handle any questions or concerns promptly.
3:30 pm: Meet with your mentor or supervisor to review your progress. Discuss feedback, challenges faced, and identify areas for further learning or improvement.
4:00 pm: Collaborate with the team to refine job postings and marketing strategies for attracting high-quality candidates. Share updates on any trends or insights from your sourcing efforts.
4:30 pm: Review your task list for the next day. Plan follow-ups, double-check all records for accuracy, and ensure no tasks are left pending.
5:00 pm: Log out for the day, feeling accomplished. Reflect on the positive impact you’ve made by connecting candidates with opportunities and supporting clients in meeting their recruitment needs.
The Nitty-Gritty (For Recruitment Consultant Apprenticeship Role)
We work out of our bright and welcoming office at Henley House in Swansea. It’s a collaborative and friendly space where teamwork thrives, and you’ll have access to the latest tools and technology to support your role and help you succeed.
Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, offering a steady routine that balances productivity and work-life harmony.
