Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Apprentice
Salary: £22,048 per annum plus Veolia benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Location: Veolia Chilton, Chilton Industrial Estate, County Durham, DL17 0PB
Programme Duration: Up to 42 Months
Candidate shortlisting will take place on w/c 17th - 24th March and assessment days will take place between w/c 31st March - 7th April

Apprenticeship Programme;
During this programme, we'll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to succeed in your career.
As well as this, you’ll also gain a Level 3 Instrumentation and Control Engineering BTEC, NVQ Competency Certificate and safety training.
We encourage you to apply even if you feel overqualified, as we may consider offering a higher apprenticeship level depending on your individual circumstances.
With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices, you’ll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.
What you'll be doing;
- Support the maintenance and Shift Teams with Health and Safety by implementing safe work protocols
- Carry out supervised maintenance work, and fault finding on all the sites - Distributed control system and programmable logic controller systems, analogue and digital instrumentation and protection systems - ensuring compliance with Environmental Permit
- Adhere to compliance and manage statutory activities such as fixed wire testing, PAT testing and calibrations
- Complete and update maintenance work and produce reports
- Administer safe work systems and Health and Safety policies
What we're looking for;
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade 4/C (or equivalent) achieved or predicted, including Maths, English & preferably Science
- Ability to follow health and safety policies and procedures and willing to challenge unsafe behaviour
- Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new skills
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to work with others
- Punctual/excellent time keeping
