Main Purpose of the Role:
Production at our Wellingborough site is a 24/7 operation with highly automated equipment, with performance and efficiency depending upon excellent maintenance and engineering practice.
We are looking for an Apprentice Technician to join our team of Maintenance Technicians and Engineers, to support the Maintenance management team and Site Manager in the efficient and smooth running of the site. This role is a fixed term position for 4 years, working 40 hours per week inclusive of one day per week training in Mechatronics at Tresham college in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
The key tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to the below. Some of these tasks will require varying degrees of assistance or supervision during the initial training period:
· Maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness in own work areas.
· Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
· Ensuring maintenance paperwork is up to date, accurate and signed off where necessary.
· Ensuring necessary risk assessments are completed before commencing certain tasks.
· Ensuring maintenance tasks are prioritised correctly.
· Minimising down-time by responding quickly to incidents, e.g. breakdowns or outages.
· Ensuring all machinery and ancillary equipment is fully operational to further reduce the risk of down-time.
· Carrying out systematic fault finding.
· General machine maintenance (cleaning, inspecting, repairing, rebuilding).
· Demonstrating a proactive involvement in the achievement of the site strategy and department KPIs.
