One of the UK’s leading suppliers of two-way radios, Apex Radio Systems Ltd, is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join their team as a business administration apprentice in their Gateshead office. The successful candidate will work towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Overall Objectives:

To support the company’s growth and profitability goals by providing administration support to colleagues, clients and suppliers.
To assist other areas of the business with processing orders, despatching goods and producing customer documentation.
To support the company’s service department by preparing radio equipment, including coding in line with specific order requirements.

Core Role Responsibilities

Handling customer queries relating to technical matters.
Responding to relevant enquiries received in a timely manner.
General record keeping and updating of systems.
Despatching goods to customers via courier, post, and Apex delivery.
Keeping the workplace tidy and a safe environment.
Producing company paperwork.
Liaising with customers regarding equipment in need of repair.
Coding of radio equipment in line with specific order requirements.
Preparation of radio equipment and accessories in line with order requirements.
Communicating internally with other staff and departments on job-related matters.
Assisting with office housekeeping duties.

Apex is looking for an apprentice to work in their Gateshead based Service team - and with their Engineering, Marketing & Sales departments in Cardiff & Teesside.

The successful candidate will be:

A good verbal and written communicator.
Computer literate and confident using the telephone.
Well organised.
Enthusiastic to learn.
Polite and professional whilst being adaptable to their wide client base.
A team player who can work effectively with colleagues in the local service team and remotely in other branches.
Able to take initiative and be actively involved.
Flexible to different tasks as and when required.
Reliable and punctual, with strong attendance and work ethic.
Extremely organised and capable of planning their own workload and assisting with colleagues' work planning.

Working week

Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, with a 30-minute lunch break.
