Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Technician or apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a good background in assembly, carpentry, and the use of various tools. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors & awnings and their components, ensuring safety and functionality for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be professional & presentable. We will of course provide training mostly on site but do also have supplier training days too covering product technical training & updates/new products. Full uniform will be provided provided. There will be a probation period & salary will be based on age and experience.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain garage doors, openers & awnings, ensuring they operate smoothly and safely.
Diagnose issues with garage door systems and provide effective solutions.
Utilise hand tools, power tools to perform repairs and installations.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on garage door systems to prevent future issues.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in carpentry or a related field is highly desirable.
Familiarity with electrical systems related to garage doors is advantageous.
Proficient in using hand tools & power tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
A valid driving license is preferred for travel between job sites.
Physically fit, heavy lifting is required
