As our IT Apprentice, you’ll be working closely with our Chief Technical Officer as they support our IT requirements. You’ll have a keen interest in IT and must be able to work as part of a busy business. Working closely with other departments you will need to build relationships with internal customers and our external IT providers. We work to strict SLAs with our internal and external customers, and you’ll be responsible, after training, for the quality of information logged into our JIRA ticketing system – you will be expected to accurately log support tickets into our JIRA ticketing system in a timely manner. We expect you to be self-motivated, efficient, and well-organised with a keen eye for detail. You’ll be IT-literate with skills in the use of Microsoft Office. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic about the importance we place on looking after our clients and providing the highest level of customer care. In turn we will support you to increase your skills, gain insight and experience and provide you with opportunities to support your future career.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate logging of customer issues into the JIRA ticketing system, from both tickets and incoming emails, and do your best to resolve client queries as first line support.
- Using the formal call logging system in place and be responsible for the quality of the information recorded – to be able to produce clear descriptions relating to user problems that ensure timely and efficient solutions.
- Providing day-to-day support to staff with regular IT issues such as password resets, new mailboxes, etc.
- Managing the phone system, including modifying the opening and closing times of the lines, adding and removing users, and adjusting the queues as necessary.
- Carrying out configuration and testing of new kit prior to new employees joining the company.
- Helping to ensure that all redundant equipment is identified and disposed of in an appropriate manner in-line with the disposal policy.
- Providing technical assistance, with support until you are confident in working independently.
- Maintaining IT equipment.
- Providing basic project support to the IT and development teams.
- Work as part of a team, whilst remaining self-motivated in managing your own workload.
