Primary Eyecare Services (PES) is an established provider of high-quality extended eye care services (those beyond sight testing), utilizing a large network of optical practice subcontractors across England (~2000). PES currently holds and manages contracts on behalf of the primary eye care network, spanning ~70 NHS commissioners and delivering over 380,000 episodes of patient care each year, with a total annual turnover of ~£25+ million. PES is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee. This sees the majority of generated income pass through to frontline eye care services in optical practices.

Role Overview:
Primary Eyecare are looking to recruit a finance apprentice to add to the growing finance team. This role will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the finance team and company. The position is within the Finance Directorate , and the job title is Finance Apprentice. This is a full-time role with fixed hours of 35 per week. The salary band for this position is £20,000, and it includes an AAT Level 1 Apprenticeship. The role is hybrid, and you will be reporting to the Finance Manager.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the Finance inbox and responding to general queries on a day-to-day basis;
- Responding to Finance Helpscout queries from practices in a timely manner;
- Assisting in the creation and distribution of monthly invoices;
- Assisting in the making payments to practices, contractors and creditors;
- Aiding in the completion of month-end procedures including management accounts and other financial analysis;
- Adhoc Finance duties as and when required;
- Adhoc administration tasks for Finance department

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (Desirable)
Experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills (Essential)
- Ability to work independently (Essential)
- Excellent IT Skills, MS Office applications in particular (Essential)
- Previous administration experience (Desirable)
- Experience of working from home (Desirable)
Skills & Qualities
- Outstanding communication, verbal and written skills (Essential)
