Cranswick is delighted to offer this Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Standard apprenticeship, for a duration of 36 months.
Job responsibilities of HGV Mechanic Apprentice:
· One day a week at Rural campus of Suffolk New college to study.
· You will assist the team in maintaining and repairing the vehicles and other equipment including fork lifts trucks, cars, LGV’s, agricultural machinery etc.
· You will be trained to maintain our entire group’s fleet of HGV vehicles to DVSA standard.
· This includes completion of relevant paperwork and working to tight deadlines in a busy garage environment.
What you will need:
· To be motivated with great communication skills
· To have an interest in problem solving/fixing mechanical issues
· To enjoy practical, hands on work
· Ideally, 4 GCSE’s including Maths & English 9-4 or equivalent.
Pay and benefits:
· Salary – £10 per hour for first year of apprenticeship, increasing thereafter.
· Salary includes £1 per hour weekly attendance bonus
· Pension – 3% employer contributions/5% employee contributions
