IT Support Apprentice
Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18, based in the village of Cold Ash, Berkshire. Our aim is to provide pupils with a wealth of academic, pastoral and co-curricular opportunities to allow them to grow into confident young women.
We are looking for a full time IT Support Apprentice to join our busy and successful Digital Delivery and Innovation team. As part of your role, you will also be enrolled on a Level 3 ICT Apprenticeship. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a qualification in IT Support.
The role would suit a recent college leaver who has previously studied or has knowledge in IT, or an older individual who is looking to undertake an IT qualification and further develop their skills. We are looking for someone with knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, LAN/WAN technology, and IT security. You will be able to think analytically, have a pro-active approach to work and be able to communicate well with other staff and pupils.
With training and support from our experienced team you will be responsible for:
- Providing support for all of the school’s staff and student facing desktops; laptops; tablets; smart devices; Operating Systems and applications for all classrooms, student library areas, Internet cafés and other student facing areas.
- Monitoring the IT service desk in support of all school staff and students.
- Facilitate resolution of operational problems and change requests and provide appropriate training and technical support.
- Take ownership of incidents, ensuring appropriate priorities are set, required resources are engaged and regular communication is in place.
- Support root-cause troubleshooting efforts to address underlying problems and minimise recurrence.
