About the role
We are looking to recruit a Finance Apprentice working within our small Finance Team based in Sheffield.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the purpose of this role is to carry out tasks supporting the Finance team, assisting with the daily operation of the department.
The expectation is that the successful candidate will be will be enrolled with the AAT to complete relevant finance qualifications.
The salary for this role will be in line with the Minimum Wage for Apprentices.
Duties will include:
- Reconciling bank statements with accounting records
- Managing petty cash transactions
- Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
- Maintaining accurate records of customer and supplier accounts
- Handling expense claims and company credit card reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with financial procedures and policies
- Posting of journals into the ERP
- Assisting in preparing trial balances
- Supporting VAT returns and financial reporting
- Assisting in submitting financial information to HMRC
- Assisting with data entry and checking for accuracy
Qualifications and Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary as full training will be provided, however a desire to work within Finance function is essential.
- Further education/training will be offered with the role (AAT qualification)
- Required: Minimum GCSE A-C (6+) Passes in Mathematics & English
- Desirable: Relevant A Levels or equivalent in Basic Accounting
