This is an exciting opportunity to join our expert engineering team while completing your Level 4 Software Engineering apprenticeship.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain modern web applications.
- Contribute to Uptivity’s product development roadmap with hands-on experience across front-end, back-end, and DevOps.
- Get involved in client-facing work, including product demos, onboarding, and training.
- Support local IT infrastructure and help maintain our cloud-based environments.
- Tech Stack You'll Be Working With: (Don’t worry if you don’t know it all yet - we’ll support you):
- Languages & Frameworks: PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.), React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- Databases: SQL / NoSQL
- Tools: Git, Figma, Canva
- Cloud: AWS, hosting, backups, security
- Development Practices: MVC, OOP, APIs, Microservices, Agile, DevOps
- Extras: AI-based process automation, system documentation, UI/UX design
What We’re Looking For:
- A fast learner with a passion for technology and problem-solving
- A proactive team player who takes initiative and ownership
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with clients
- Curiosity and a “can-do” attitude — you’re not afraid of a challenge
- A basic understanding of web/app development (or a willingness to learn quickly!)
- A driving licence is a bonus, but not essential
Entry Requirements:
- The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider
- OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test
- OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test
- OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
