About the role

During the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will participate in both academic and vocational training resulting in an Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship including Level 3 Diploma and Level 4 Certificate (HNC).
Carry out both planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenanceon all production building equipment and systems, to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimise down time.
Full, accurate and timely completion of all maintenance records.
Ensure adequate availability /stock-holding of commonly used or long lead time spare parts.
Requisition and collection stores materials as required
Carry out all work in accordance with prescribed processes, e.g. Safe systems of work, and in such a way so as to minimise risk to self and others.
Review processes, procedures, systems, paperwork, etc. in own area and make suggestions for improvement.
Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or system/equipment down time to relevant personnel.
Any other reasonable duties or project work which may be required by management from time to time.
Working towards Mechatronics Maintenance Pathway
The tasks and responsibilities above are typical of the duties the postholder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time.

Small Team of 6 technicians (3 shifts) and 1 apprentice, supporting 4 manufacturing areas of the business.

Education/Qualifications

GCSE Grades 9-4 or A-C in English, Math’s and Science.
