CG Reynolds is a Birmingham based specialist contractor with over 25 years of experience in providing supply and installation for partitions, dry lining, plastering systems, suspended ceilings, structural framing systems, passive fire protections, and interior fitout. The company operates in the construction industry predominantly within the Midlands, although also has projects further afield including those from our satellite office in London.
Role Description
This is an exciting full-time opportunity as an Apprentice Environment & Sustainability Officer, ideal for those wanting to learn more about the Environmental impact in Construction and also understanding and driving forward a more sustainable site environment. Most suited to those due to leave Year 13 or College having studied a relevant subject, with a view to expanding their studies within the Environment and Sustainability sector. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to drive change and develop with us as we tackle the challenges faced within the industry relating to environmental and sustainability factors.
This 40 hours per week role is based in our Birmingham office in Aston, although there will be visits to site as and when needed. This apprenticeship role will help the successful candidate learn all about the responsibilities and tasks related to environmental compliance, policy, issues, law, and impact assessment. The foundations have been set with data capture channels being created and used. Now is time for action in encouragement and influence to change thinking on site and practices when building, the apprentice will be supporting this. The role will involve maintenance of current data capture, streamlining where necessary and start the process of implementing policy and procedure to encourage change in reducing waste, being mindful of more environmentally friendly ways of working on site etc, enhancing and looking at ways to improve where possible. Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to learn Environmental Compliance, Environmental Policy, and Environmental Impact Assessment skills
- Passion about getting to know about Environmental Issues and Environmental Law
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ideally qualified with a subject related field at A Level or Vocational qualification
- Experience in Construction or related field is not essential but advantageous
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal format
- Attention to Detail and well organised
- Ability to write reports and proposals
- Excellent IT skills and a plus if you have knowledge of Power BI and Excel
- A team player who is equally comfortable working independently
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
Salary/Benefits
- Starting salary is £7.55 per hour as the apprenticeship commences - there is room for growth upon meeting expected targets and KPIs
