About the role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Apprenticeships Department for a Head of Apprenticeships to lead the operational delivery and strategic development of the apprenticeship provision at Reaseheath College.
Over the last 8 years, our apprenticeship offer has experienced substantial organic growth – driven by our commitment to building strong employer partnerships, tailoring programmes to meet industry needs, and successfully delivering high outcomes. This in turn, has resulted in the College holding the highest performing provision in Cheshire, with achievement rates exceeding the national average.
The core purpose of this role is to continue to drive this provision forward, looking for new opportunities to deliver outputs and leveraging the college’s expansive resources to meet both learner and employer needs. Whilst a large proportion of the apprenticeships offer are land-based, the college provides other areas, and it is fundamental that the post holder collaborates with the curriculum areas to ensure these are designed and delivered to a high standard. As such, the ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships at all levels within the college, and influence stakeholders to ensure key objectives align.
In addition, the post holder will work alongside the Head of Industry Partnership and Business Growth to analyse data and report on how the apprenticeship provision is performing overall. Using key performance indicators, the post holder will also be responsible for monitoring areas of improvement and put strategies in place to steer a high performing team.
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience within apprenticeships as well as a strong understanding of contractual arrangements. Although not essential, a strong understanding of OFSTED requirements within apprenticeships provisions would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver the College Strategy for the department through the development of effective operational objectives and management of the Apprenticeship team.
- Work cross College between Curriculum Areas and Reaseheath Apprenticeships to develop and implement new Apprenticeship programmes.
- Take accountability for ensuring a high quality of learning and assessment provision across the department.
- Ensure ESFA funding requirements and rules are complied with.
- Produce a monthly performance report, highlighting under/over performance, potential risks and improvement proposals.
- Using data produced by the Business Intelligence team, effectively monitor the accuracy of the information contained on the Digital Apprenticeship Service.
The successful candidate will:
- Level 5 management qualification.
- Recent and significant experience of Apprenticeship contract management.
- Robust knowledge of DfE apprenticeship funding rules.
- Demonstrable evidence of the ability to design, develop and deliver innovative apprenticeship programmes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence individuals at all levels within an organisation.
We can offer you:
- 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- A two-week festive/New Year shut down
- Generous pension scheme with an employer contribution of 20.8%
- Enhanced sick pay of up to 6 months full pay depending upon service
- On site gym membership available
- Pluxee reward scheme
