Salary: £36,000–£40,000 per annum (pro-rata, depending on experience)
Reporting To: Principal

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Apprenticeship Manager to lead the development and delivery of new Higher Education apprenticeship programmes (Level 4 and above) in the subject areas of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Computing.
This role will focus specifically on apprenticeship training for employers, where apprentices are recruited from existing employees within partner organisations. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the programme from the ground up, including gaining regulatory approvals and securing public funding streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of new apprenticeship schemes in the relevant subject areas
- Prepare and submit applications to relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., OfS, IfATE, ESFA)
- Identify and engage with employers to support recruitment of apprentices from within their current workforce
- Develop partnerships with employers, professional bodies, and government agencies
- Ensure all programmes meet the required academic and industry standards
- Manage the end-to-end development process including validation, quality assurance, and funding compliance
- Establish systems for monitoring apprentice progress, employer satisfaction, and programme performance
- Stay up to date with relevant policy, regulatory, and funding developments
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in leading Higher Education apprenticeship schemes at Level 4 and above
- Familiarity with the regulatory and funding requirements for HE apprenticeships (OfS, IfATE, ESFA, DfE)
- Demonstrated ability to build apprenticeship provision from scratch
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise with employers, regulators, and internal teams
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver strategic and operational outcomes
Desirable:
- Recently retired professionals with relevant engineering or HE experience are strongly encouraged to apply
- Professional qualifications in engineering, construction, computing, or education
