Job Overview
We are looking for a new apprentice who enjoys being around children and outside, with a sense of humour! You will learn about the Early Years and Free Range Explorers!
This is an ideal post for a School leaver.
An Apprentice will learn:
For the Children:
- Support each child in reaching their full potential by recognizing their individual learning and development styles.
- Ensure the welfare and safety of every child by implementing all policies, including Safeguarding procedures and Health and Safety policies.
- Act as a key person for a selected number of children, managing observations, next steps, and other areas of their development.
- Provide a broad range of nurturing, child-led opportunities with gentle adult involvement, respecting each child's space.
- Communicate with parents about their child's day, progress, and any incidents.
- Lead and support healthy snack and mealtimes.
- Ensure the smooth running of a typical day at Free Range Explorers.
- Enjoy learning, playing, and exploring outdoor natural environments.
For the Free Range Explorers Team:
- Understand and implement Safeguarding procedures, knowing who the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is.
- Learn and implement the Free Range Ethos in your role.
- Communicate effectively with the team and support others in their role.
Other Duties:
- Maintain, tidy, reorganize, and improve learning environments.
- Perform general household tasks.
- Care for resident animals with the children.
- Utilize ICT skills.
- Walks in the local community with the children.
- Engage with online tutorials and maintain coursework/professional development via an online portfolio.
Qualifications:
- English and Maths GCSE desirable but not essential
Application Process:
- A enhanced DBS is required for this role.
- Two references should be provided.

Pay: From £7.75 per hour
