NUSTEEL STRUCTURES LIMITED are specialists in the design, fabrication and installation of steel footbridges, sign gantries and road bridges. Due to our continuing success, we are currently seeking applicants for the following permanent positions at our premises in Lympne, Hythe, Kent.
Nusteel Structures is an Employee Owned Trust, meaning the business is owned by a board of Trustees who operate on behalf of the employees. This allows the business to share profits with each member of staff and ensure the business is run for the long term benefit of the employees.
Holiday: 22 days rising to 26 days a year plus bank holidays.
Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
As an apprentice Fabricator Welder, you will learn how to make steel road bridges, footbridges, staircases and gantries, as well as other steel structures. You will work towards a formal qualification on a day release basis in partnership with Canterbury College. During the apprenticeship you will be involved in the creation of new structures for the UK’s infrastructure network. You will be part of a team of skilled workers and will be mentored by experienced colleagues. Your duties will be performed under supervision so you must be comfortable working with people in an industrial factory setting.

As an Apprentice you will receive thorough training and development and will be supported throughout your apprenticeship.
- You will learn MIG and MMA welding.
- You will be taught fabrication skills.
- You will be trained in the safe use of hand tools.
- You will be taught to work from engineering drawings.
- You will be trained in the safe use overhead cranes.
- You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
- You will be shown how to carry out tasks following company procedures and in accordance with Health & Safety policies.
WORKING HOURS PER WEEK
40 Hours Per Week - Monday to Friday including 1 College Day.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Maths & English GCSE Grade 4 (old C) or above. Functional Skills Level 2 is also accepted.
Applicants who do not hold these qualifications will be given an opportunity to sit an initial Maths & English assessment at Canterbury College. However, they may be required to complete Functional Skills alongside their apprenticeship.
