Main Purpose of the Role:
To assist the Bakery Technicians & Technical Bakery Team with the testing of raw materials and our products, and to certify finished products ready for customer delivery. Assist with all elements of the NPD/EPD process for any new/current products developed by Whitworth Bros Ltd. The successful candidate will complete a Bakery Apprentice scheme with Moulton Bakery College. The shift pattern for this role is 40 hours per week, 4 days per week will be spent on site at Whitworth Bros Ltd, and one day at Moulton College.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Routine test bakes using our products.
- Accurate recording and reporting of test results.
- Testing of trial, competitor and calibration samples and comparing results to specifications.
- Internal projects covering flour analysis and finished product quality.
- Routine housekeeping duties to ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Support with EPD & NPD product test baking & development.
- Support with customer presentations & meetings.
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks required by the Management Team
