Job Title: Apprentice Drainage Engineer
Salary: £16,000–£22,000 (depending on age and experience)

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Drainage Engineer to join our client’s growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in drainage engineering through hands-on experience and structured training. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to diagnose, maintain, and repair drainage systems across residential and commercial sites.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone eager to learn, develop technical skills, and build a long-term career in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with unblocking sinks, toilets, and external drainage systems
- Supporting high-pressure water jetting and drain cleaning operations
- Observing and assisting with CCTV drain surveys
- Helping with basic drain repairs and excavation works
- Learning how to identify and resolve drainage issues
- Providing good customer service while on-site
- Assisting with job reports and basic documentation
- Following all health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Strong interest in drainage engineering or construction/utilities
- Willingness to learn and take instruction from senior engineers
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Desirable Skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Any hands-on experience (e.g., labouring, construction, plumbing)
- Basic understanding of tools or mechanical work
- Interest in progressing within the engineering or utilities sector
