ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re now offering a unique and exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Transmissions Technician to join our world-class motorsport team. This apprenticeship is ideal for an individual looking to kick start their career with a passion for motorsport and mechanical systems – eager to learn and develop in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
You will be responsible for the preparation and assembly of high-performance gearboxes, differentials, and drivetrain systems, ensuring that all our products meet the highest industry standard. Driven and with levels of attention to detail, you will have the flexible approach to work and take pride in getting the job done right – applying a high standard of workmanship as our competition cars tackle some of the world’s most challenging terrain.
The role responsibilities include:
- Assist in the assembly, servicing, and maintenance of high-performance transmissions systems.
- Building transmissions units from technical drawings and following the build procedures.
- Work with precision components to exacting tolerances.
- Support the preparation of parts for testing and competition use.
- Use specialist tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Learn to diagnose faults and help develop solutions alongside experienced technicians.
- Responsible to keep all build documents filled and up to date.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs, with gradates A-C or 9-6, including Maths, English, and a Science-based qualification.
- Strong interest in motorsport, mechanical engineering or automotive systems.
- Practical skills and a methodical approach to hands-on tasks.
- A willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a collaborative team.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER
This is a 42-month (plus End Point Assessment) apprenticeship, where you will spend time with our local training provider Gen2, in addition to working on-site at our Dovenby Hall Headquarters. At Gen2, you will learn a range of hands-on and theoretical engineering skills. Training will be delivered on a one day per week basis at their training centre.
