HiQ Gosport has been trading for 3 years, we have 4 members of staff. We offer Vehicle Servicing, Tyres MOT’S and vehicle repairs and maintenance, Air Conditioning, Wheel Alignment etc
We also have 2 other local Sites in Havant and Chichester. Havant was our first and has been operating since 2008 we now have 17 members of staff across all 3 sites. Most employees have been with us for years. We look after our staff in training and welfare and consider ourselves a great employer that has a great team!
We are looking for a Apprentice Vehicle Technician that wants to learn all aspect of the job. They will learning and performing tasks such as tyre fitting, vehicle servicing and MOT repairs and after showing confidence in doing these task moving on to diagnostics, Clutches and other in depth repairs.
We are looking for a strong confident apprentice that can fit in well with the other team members, keen to learn and undertake instructions and guidance. Be punctual and reliable, well presented, a good team player, great communication skills with the right attitude to learn and progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Inspections and Maintenance:
Apprentices will learn to perform routine vehicle servicing, including inspecting components for wear and tear and documenting findings.
- Diagnosing and Repairing Faults:
They will assist in identifying and resolving vehicle issues, potentially using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Learning Technical Skills:
Apprentices will acquire practical skills in areas like engine maintenance, electrical systems, and other vehicle systems through on-the-job training and attending college or training courses.
- Following Manufacturer Guidelines:
They will learn to adhere to manufacturer standards and procedures for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining a Safe and Organized Workshop:
Apprentices will contribute to a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
They will gain experience interacting with customers, potentially providing advice on vehicle maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications:
A keen interest in mechanics and vehicles is essential, along with the ability to learn and apply technical knowledge.
The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues is crucial.
Apprentices need good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with tools and equipment.
Thoroughness and attention to detail are important for accurate repairs and maintenance.
- Teamwork and Communication:
Apprentices will need to collaborate with other technicians and potentially interact with customers.
A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures is essential
28 days Holiday Including Bank Holidays, We close down the day before Christmas EVE and Reopen next working day after New Year, 3-4 Days of holiday will be used for this depending on how the Christmas Period falls on days of week.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30 pm
Saturday 8.30am to 12pm
